Algeria authorities have authorized family members of Libyan Colonel Muammar Gaddafi to enter the country via Tinalcom crossing post in Illizi province, on south east border, official source told Echorouk.

The convoy comprises 7 four wheels drive vehicles carrying 31 people, including Gaddafi wife, Safia, her daughter Aisha, her sons Mohamed and Hanibal, in addition to Gaddafi’s grandchildren.

The source said the convoy of Gaddafi family members were waiting for 12 hours near the crossing post, before being authorized to enter Algeria.

Aisha Gaddafi was in a critical health situation as she is pregnant in her 9th month, noting that the convoy carried many children and women, which prompted the authorities to let the convoy entering to Algeria, in accordance with international treaties stipulating offering help for people in the times of war, the source added.

Gaddafi family members are likely to get refuge in Illizi province, rather than in the capital Algiers, the source added.

To recall, an international arrest warrant has been issued two months ago against Muammar Gaddafi, his son Seif al Islam and Chief of Intelligence Service, Abdullah al-Senoussi.
