Gaid Salah: “Presidential Elections, An Opportunity To Anchor Trust And Confidence In Algeria”

The Deputy National Defense Minister and Chief of Staff of the National People’s Army, (ANP) Major General Ahmed Gaid Salah, stated that the upcoming December 12th presidential elections are an unprecedented opportunity to establish trust and confidence in the country.
Mr. Ahmed Gaïd Salah, reiterated on Wednesday on the second day of his working visit of inspection to the 3rd military region of Béchar, south-western Algeria, his call on Algerians to go massively to the polls to decide who will preside over the country’s destiny.
We have worked, since the beginning of the crisis, to face up to all the challenges and defeat the gang’s malicious designs,” said Major General Gaid Salah, adding that “we will never tire of going to the polls for a competition based on fair and sound democratic rules, where the voice of the people will be sovereign to decide who will preside over the country’s destiny.
This is, said the ANP Chief of Staff, “a special opportunity to shift to a new stage in the process of building the country’s future”.
For him, “this important milestone is an unprecedented opportunity to build confidence in the country and pave the way for a promising future in terms of consolidating the democratic exercise eclipsed for years by the gang, which tried to seize power by looting the country’s wealth, embezzling people’s money and undermining the country’s potential, to serve low-down objectives of the enemies of the homeland.
“However, just as we have succeeded in bringing down tyrannical colonialism, we have defeated them today, thanks to Allah Almighty and the strenuous efforts of the country’s loyal children,” underlined the Deputy Minister of National Defense.
“We see today the horizon of a promising future awaiting the Algerian people, thanks to Allah Almighty, after the election of a legitimate President of the Republic who will assume the heavy responsibility that will devolve upon him, with utter devotion to his country and his people”, Mr. Gaid Salah added.
“We are determined to accompany the Algerian people relentlessly, by meeting all appropriate and favorable conditions and implementing measures relating to the security of the electoral process, in order to offer citizens every guarantee of massive and effective participation in the forthcoming presidential polls”, he finally said.
