Gen. Hassane did not refuse to hand over his duties and vacate his office, Security sources say
Senior security source told Echorouk on Saturday that rumors about the refusal of Gen. Hassane, head of the Counter-terrorism Services at the Directorate of Intelligence, to deliver his functions and vacate his office after his retirement, are just unfounded news, that cannot happen at all in the military institution, which is based mainly on the discipline from the simplest soldier to the leaders of the Chiefs of Staff, adding that all things are going well according to legal frameworks that are generally accepted in the military establishment.
On the other hand, the news website TSA “all about Algeria” said on Saturday that Gen. Hassane, retired recently, and has been placed under judicial control by the military court.
Citing security sources, it added that the Commander of the Special Intervention Forces Team at the Directorate of Intelligence and Security, in charge of the fight against terrorism, risks being subject to follow-up before the military court, because of errors they were described as “serious”, according to the source.
General Hassane, is one of the four Senior Military Officials in the Intelligence Services, in addition to all of Gen. Djabbar Mehanna, Chafik, and Colonel Fouzi, who terminated their jobs at the military establishment and retired, in the wake of a meeting of the relevant security committee in last January 13, which was headed by the Maj. Gen. Ahmed Gaid Saleh, Deputy of the Defense Minister and Chief of Staff of the People’s National Army, in the presence of Gen. Toufik Head of Intelligence and Security Services.
Gen. Hassane is known for his success in the face of the largest issues of the fight against terrorism during the years of the security crisis, and the latest was his contribution in solving the Tiguentourine Attack , in addition to his role and his team to convince dozens of terrorists to refrain from armed action and join civilian life, especially the organization’s leaders, led by Hassane Hattab, former leader of the organization of the Salafist Group for Preaching and Combat, in the framework of the embodiment of the Charter for Peace and National Reconciliation, which was approved by President Abdelaziz Bouteflika.
