Algerian government was willing to study the status of the “Tassili Airlines”. It will either grant the company full autonomy or attach it to “Air Algerie”, Wahid Bouabdellah, General Manager of the Air Algérie airline company says. 

• In his interview with Echorouk newspaper, Bouabdellah said the contact with the PM, Ahmed Ouyahia, aims at lifting the monopoly over the sector of transferring packages, which blocks the launching of the Algeria- New York line.  The Tehran line needs also to be buttressed by a political statement. I admit some files of the company were not well dealt with, that’s why we lost 200 million dinars in the deal of buying spare parts.
• “The case was presented to the PM and is under study as part of a governmental strategy for the air transport. I’m sure public authorities seeks to find a solution to the Tassili Airlines, either by making it an independent company or annexation to Air Algerie, the study is ongoing at the level of the government.
• “It is an easy task because there was a company “DTA” belonging to the directorate of airline works, which developed “Tassili Airlines”.
• “As you know, the law of the Algerian delivery services is ruled by an article which obliged monopoly for the benefit of the business process and the transfer of the postal parcels to more than 250 grams.
• “The airline agreement will allow us to launch this trip, but we need a political statement by the Algerian government. The technical studies were done to ensure all the flights’ procedures”.
• We lost about 20 million euros.
