The Chairman of the Tunisian Parliament Rachid Ghannouchi stressed Tuesday the need to give more importance to Tunisia’s relations with Algeria and Libya.

In an interview granted to the Tunisian television channel “Diwan”, Rachid Ghannouchi explained that “the triangle Algeria-Tunisia-Libya must be considered as a triangle of growth for Tunisia”.

According to the same official, “this triangle should be a starting point to revive the dream of the Arab Maghreb Union, which will help solve Tunisia’s problems in a regional framework,” he added.

In the same wake, Mr. Ghannouchi described his links with the Algerian leaders as “excellent”.

The leader of the Tunisian movement “Ennahdha” also said he longs for the opening of borders between the three countries and the unification of the currency because the future of these Maghreb countries is common.
