Government to expand financial aid to acquire housing units

The government has decided to expand its financial aid for the beneficiaries from the community housing projects to the category of people whose salaries do not exceed 900 Euros at a level of 700 Thousand Algeria Dinars.

• Governmental sources have revealed that the cabinet discussed a project to lift the threshold of this aid to reach 1 million Algerian Dinars but most of the ministers have staunchly opposed the idea considering it constraining for the public treasury.

• The same sources have indicated that the national housing fund and all the parties involved  in the realisation of the housing projects were officially informed about the decision in a move to put it into force as of the current month.

• This financial aid will exclude all those who have already benefited from a housing unit in the past or own a parcel of land fit for construction.
