Hadj Aissa: “I have contacts with clubs in Europe and in the Gulf countries for a bona fidé professional career”.

The reporter of “Echorouk Al Yaoumi” in Monastir met on the spot with the talented striker of the Algerian squad of ES Setif Hadj Aissa on the eve of the crucial first – leg match versus the local Tunisian team of Monastir as part of the Arab league of champions' competition.  

• Q: How do you see the first – leg qualifying match slated for today versus the Tunisian side of Monastir?

• The match will surely be most grueling for both sides. But we are determined to do our utmost to tilt the balance in our favour. And don’t forget that the return match will be played in Setif. So, we are confident to carry the day.

• Q: So, you seem determined to snatch the qualifying ticket here in Monastir? …

• Absolutely, we will tackle the match in line with our coach’s guidelines as if we were playing the final in order to face up to any untoward contingency against the Monastir squad whose play on the pitch is well known to us.

• Q: What are the assets and the drawbacks of your Tunisian opponents?

• You should know that Monastir plays well at home but our seasoned strategy for this confrontation could well make the difference owing to our solid experience in this Arab football competition.

• Q: Are you still confident that ES Setif will once again wrench the Arab trophy?

• It’s our dearest wish and we will strive hard during the next qualifiers to secure this Arab trophy for the third time running to the delight of our numerous and faithful supporters.

• Q: It has been reported that you have had serious contacts with professional clubs in Europe and in the Gulf countries. Could you tell us more about it?

• Yes, in fact I have had several offers for a professional football career in Europe and in the Gulf countries.

• If these contacts bear fruit, it will be my last season with ES Setif.

• These contacts are undertaken by ES Setif top manager Abdelhamid Serrar who is studying minutely the best and most appropriate offers to allow me to embark on a professional career abroad in good conditions.
