Heads of Enterprises Forum is holding an extraordinary general assembly to take a position on the Presidential Elections of April 17.

According to Echorouk sources from the Forum, more than 100 heads of enterprise out of 350 members have confirmed their attendance of the meeting, which will be held today in Algiers’ Aurassi Hotel, after it was scheduled to be held on the tenth of February last year, but the lack of a quorum prevented it.
However, the group of Reda Hamiani insisted on holding it before the next Presidential Elections, even if there is no quorum, pursuant to domestic law.
Unlike the Presidential Elections of 2004 and 2009, where businessmen agree on choosing the free candidate Abdelaziz Bouteflika, but officials of the Forum fail to convince businessmen in consensus on Bouteflika’s Fourth Term, as the head of the Forum, Reda Hamiani, according to reliable sources, resort to the option of a secret ballot, here on Thursday, about support President Bouteflika or not, after the division between business about the Fourth Term, as there are those who called on Bouteflika to run for another Presidential Term, meanwhile, others announced their complete rejection of the call for considerations relating more to the health situation of the President.
First position supporters includes the forum’s president and members of the Executive Council, while the Council of strategic direction, represents the second opinion, and more than that there are members of the Council who support the former Prime Minister Ali Benflis.
According to observers, the  Fourth Term managed to dismantle the Forum after the outbreak of conflicts between supporters and opponents, which was reflected in the refusal of some businessmen of the pressures that were imposed on them by the circumference of President Bouteflika, forcing them to contribute to the financing of his elections’ campaign.
