The first findings revealed that dozens of pharmacies are currently working illegally prompting the relevant ministry to issue severe sanctions against them including the loss of their license to practice.

The move came after a first campaign launched by the minister Oueld Abbas crowned by the striking off 300 drug importers across the country for failing to abide by the regulation in force.

The minister has set up a committee and assigned it to investigate on the identities of the pharmacists after receiving thorough assessments denouncing illegal practices. Many of them rent their degrees for people who do not posses the required abilities to run the pharmacies.
