The Players of Cameroun football squad have finally decided maintaining the strike they launched Sunday night, and consequently will not come to Algiers to face the Desert Foxes.

Algeria Football Federation confirmed Monday on its website the cancelling of the freindly clash with the Indomitable Lions.

The FAF statement reads that the president of the Cameroonian Football Federation, Mohammed Yia, has informed the FAF that it is impossible for Cameroun squad to come to Algiers ahead of the friendly game with Algeria.

The cancell of the game is due to an administrative problem within the Cameroonian squad, the source added.

The FAF deplored such “unilateral and anti sport spirit” act, and vowed to take necessary measures at the level of concerned bodies to deffend its interests and seek compensations for the endured prejudice.

Alternatively, Algeria coach, Vahid Halhodzic, decided to schedule a game between the players of the national squad, on Tuesday night.

To recall, FAF sent a special aircraft to Marrakech airport in order to carry the Cameroun squad to Algiers directly after the final match of LG Cup. But Eto’o’s mates held a meeting in the hotel, and decided not to go to the airport, saying they decided not to play against Algeria, because the federation has reserved no interesting allowance for them.

The aircraft waited for 5 hours, before leaving to Spain.

Eto’o told reporters at the airport, before taking off to Spain: “all I can say is that the players are to issue a statement in which they would express their decision as to play or to boycott the game against Algeria.”

In fact, Cameroun internationalists required 33 000 Euros in exchange of the friendly game with Algeria. The Cameroun Football Association said it cannot afford paying the required sum, and promised to grant allowances after the match, but the players snubbed the offer.
