MP Mousa Abdi complained about his party’s stand regarding his draft bill criminalizing French colonialism.

Mousa Abdi said in a statement to Echorouk yesterday: “I am not satisfied with the position on my proposal by my party the National Liberation Front and I still do not understand the causes of this behaviour”

The MP of Chlef constituency put the responsibility of the situation to the group of politicians in the wake of the FLN secretary general Abdelaziz Benlkhadem. The groip of politicians “deny the sacrifice, struggle, and history of the martyrs of Algeria.” as he put it.

Through Abdi pain and sorrow for the tough and nail attacks on his person because of the sound legal bases of his bill aimed at criminalizing colonialism. Abdi sadly said: “I am aware of the fact that the offense committed by the occupying French army against the sons of my own kind over. I lost my father who spent his life fighting against the French. Two of my brothers martyrs for Algeria, and that I have three sisters Mujahadat (freedom fighters) added to my mother, and I still remember as measured by the family, and I think that the one who suffered the cruelty of colonialism and the scourge, cannot stand in the way of such a project.”

He was surprised at the speaker to work against his party’s support for a bill criminalizing colonialism within the frameworks of the party, without moving to the parliament or the government, and said: “I voted for the National Liberation Front, held by the Ninth Conference unanimously on the list of values of the bill, but that the leadership of the FLN did not dare supporting the content of this regulation outside the institutions of the party, but it came fairly repudiation of the project completely, and the flimsy pretext, that it came to individual initiative from me. “

The spokesman stressed that the initiative was launched by what Belkhadem, we give the parliament the right to initiate legislation, and on this basis is built proponents, but however the project did not meet the required response from the party, both at the government level or at the level of National People’s Assembly.

The MP said that “his conscience and his deputies are tranquil because they accomplished what they were supposed to do,” adding that the responsibility of the first house of the parliament, headed by Abdelaziz Ziari, cannot be ignored, because “the assembly must bear the historic responsibility and initiate action to activate the law as required by the Constitution.”
