“Intellectual reviews” at prisons for convicts in terrorism

Association of the Imams of the Sahel countries launched intellectual reviews at Algerian detentions which are directed to those convicted in violence, extremism and terrorism with act or tribute, parallel with contacting families of terrorists who were still active in mountains in the framework of an armed activity, to convince them to reject the armament and return back to the civil life through joining the procedures of peace and national reconciliation that is still valid.

Sheikh Youcef Machria, General Secretary of the Association said on Sunday, in a phone conversation with Echorouk, that the Association exploits various ways to attract youth to the right decisions and rejection of the extremism and integration in the society, explaining hat the aim from these intellectual reviews which reached a number of jails and which is still continuing, is correcting some concepts.

“Those involved in violence, extremism and terrorist either with act or with praising look to the society as an enemy, and because what happened could be the cause of their extremism in the society, we launched this initiative to correct their ideas with proof and evidence”.

Algerian detentions are crowded with dozens of prisoners who were followed by justice on charges of terrorism.
