International organizations call on the Algerian president to intervene in favour of the municipality guards.
The municipality guards stationed between the cities of Boufarik and Blida have decided to march toward the capital city Algiers as of next week, while two international organizations have called on the president Bouteflika to intervene at earliest in order to make an end to their suffering.

In a declaration to Echourouk the main national coordinator of municipality guards Aliouet Lahloun has indicated that the municipality guards intent to reach Algiers and forward their grievances to the president Bouteflika after being blocked by the national gendarmerie in Boufarik the day before yesterday.

He went on saying that some 8000 agents are still camping out in one of the fields of Boufarik while official sources reveal that the number doesn’t exceed 300 after the departure of their comrades in the eve of the holly month of Ramadan.

M Lahloun has indicated that the municipality guards are resilient to reach the capital city despite all the hurdles noting that they are used to sleep in the wild and fast away from home. The holy month of Ramadan will add to their resilience and will not give until the intervention of the president, he added.

The coordination has vehemently criticized the relevant authorities for applying coercive decisions against the protesters who took part to the sit in of Blida and the march toward Algiers.
