Amhamed Abdelaziz, Libya’s foreign minister

Libya’s foreign minister Amhamed Abdelaziz told Echorouk in an interview on Monday besides the Arab Summit that a number of Gaddafi’s family members left Algeria to go to Oman.He also said terrorists behind the attack on a gas complex in In Amenas (south of Algeria) did not entered from Libya but from Niger, in response to Algerian interior minister Dahou Ould Kablia’s remarks.

Will you officially announce that the Gaddafis left Algeria ?

First of all, I have to say that the Algerian government received Muammar Gaddafi’s family for human reasons. As for your question, it will be officially announced that the family left Algeria and went to another sister country.

Do you mean Oman ?

Yes, I do. It will be officially announced. A triple official position from Libya, Algeria and Oman is prepared. Furthermore, there is a commitmment towards the Security Council.

Will you recquire conditions from Oman ?

Libya will not recquire any conditions from sister Oman. Any country has the right to receive partisans or opposition members. As it happened in other countries, we ask Oman to not allow its guests to hit the Libyan Revolution and to be a negative factor against Libya.

The Algerian government announced that In Amenas attackers reached Algeria across Libya.

Firstly, documents show that the terrorists came from Mali and entered Algeria across Niger. No Libyan was part of the coward attack. There is no evidence about that.

I also want to say that the release of the hostages by the Algerian army is a correct action due to sensistive circumstances for Algeria and Libya. If the army did not intervene, the tragedy would have been much more bigger.

What about arms used in the attack ? Some reports say they were brought by Zintan’s revolutionaries.

That’s not true. The arms were brought from northern Mali. We have already issued a release about the non involvement of Zintan’s revolutionaries in the attack.

What do you think about Algeria’s reservations on granting the Syrian National Coalition Syria’s seat in the Arab League ?

When the decision was made on March 6th, we considered the Qatari proposal to grant  the Syrian National Coalition Syria’s seat in the Arab League as a support act for the Syrian people in order to end massacres.

What about legal recquirments evoked by Algeria and Iraq ?

We respect Algeria and Iraq’s opinions. Yet, we do not have to think a lot about the legal aspect due to the sufference of the Syrian people and the destrcution of their infrasstrcutures.
