Iraq Embassy to Algiers Refutes Invitations To Visit Shiite Shrines
Criticism against the Iraqi embassy to Algiers about the invitation to the Algerians, since the days of Hajj to visit the Shiite shrines in Iraq is a fabricated campaign, Iraqi Embassy in Algiers, said on Saturday.
Iraqi embassy posted on its official website that the ambassador Dr. Abdertahmane Al-Husseini, at the request on 23/06/2016 of the Dr. Mohamed Issa, Religious Affairs and Endowments Minister, he visited the ministry’s building, and they discussed aspects of cooperation between the two countries to serve the common interests.”
“Media campaign is based on fabrications and and lies is not credible and will not affect the Iraqi-Algerian relationships, which reached a high degree of maturity.”
Iraqi embassy published last week a declaration on its website calling for the Algerians to take advantage of facilities for those who are interested to religious visits to Iraq.
Previously, Religious Affairs Minister, Mohammad Issa, announced, on the sidelines of a session of the National Assembly, that he would hold a meeting with the Iraqi ambassador to discuss the Iraqi suspicious move”.
He expressed the hope that the diplomatic missions will be committed to the tasks that are entrusted to the doctrine of Algerians that is related to the spirit of the Constitution and the provisions of the law.
For his part, the Iraqi Foreign Minister, Ahmad Djamal Khamis, said the Algerian Foreign Ministry failed to summon the Iraqi ambassador, and what comes within the framework of promoting a fabricated media campaign trying to target Iraq’s Embassy to Algeria.”
“Iraqi embassies around the world do not promote Chiisme or any doctrine or religious orientation.”
“Unjustified attempts by certain parties want to influence the Iraqi-Algerian relationships, which reached a high degree of maturity.”
“There are some ads that were published by the embassies of Iraq abroad regarding the provision of facilities to Algerians or others nationals who wish to visit the holy shrines in Iraq, and that does not have anything to do with the deployment of any doctrine, whether Sunni or Shiite.”
