Is there any plan to hit Algeria’s stability?
Russian foreign minister Sergey Lavrov’s remarks raised controversy among security observers in Algeria as most of them believe that they are not baseless.
Retired lieutenant Abdelaziz Medjahed said Lavrov’s remarks are not baseless as Algeria has enemies which try to hit its stability and cause anarchy.
“Tons of drug are trying to enter the Algerian borders. France’s trends do not accept Algeria to be strong in the region. Because of that, it tries to exploit defects to provoke us. The Qatari ad Saudi regimes do the same thing,” he told Echorouk.
“The Russian minister’s remarks are not the first of their kind. Former French President Nicolas Sarkozy and Qatari former foreign minister said the same thing,” he added.
Medjahed believes that Lavrov knows about the reality of foreign risks threatening Algeria.
Earlier, Lavrov said foreign parties try to trigger anarchy in Algeria by promoting the “Algerian Spring.”
Political analyst and international relations professor at the University of Algiers Salim Kelala said the minister’s remarks are a message to Algeria as Russia is its traditional and strategic ally.
“Russia has clues about the attempt of some parties to shake stability in Algeria,” he added
