Islamic party leader Abdellah Djabellah calls for the delay of the elections
The leader of the Islamic party Justice and Development Front, Abdellah Djabellah has yesterday expressed his will for the delay of the upcoming legislative elections by a month or two, announcing the adhesion of most of the militants of his former party as well as some retired top military officers.

He lashed out at the interior ministry for delaying permission to the newly created political parties to hold their general assemblies.
Taking the floor before journalists at a press conference, M Djabellah has explained his wish to see the next elections delayed by the fact that his party didn’t have time to launch a campaign.
The leader has indicated that his party is represented in 95% of the Algerian municipalities and counts militants from various social categories and backgrounds, including businessmen, women and even former top military officers.
Replying to Echourouk’s comment over the fact that the adhesion of former military officers to his party was part of a pact with the regime, M Djabelalh put it clear saying” The military officers are Algerians after all, and we do not take into account the people’s past but their present”.
