Israeli laboratories export seed-Borne diseases, experts say

Participants of the 8th edition citrus exhibition, held in Tipaza (68 km west of Algiers), warn on Thursday of the spread of dangerous diseases which may harm fruits and trees.

Farmers explain that these diseases may lead to a decline of the national production and their profits as well.

Experts expressed concern over the deterioration of the situation that affected the agricultural production, after the opening speech by Mohamed Belahdjar, head of the National Chamber of Agriculture, who called upon the government to encourage scientific research in order to eradicate harmful diseases which affect the national production.

“Developed countries such as Israel and USA produce seed-borne diseases and treatment to export them to other countries where scientific research is absent. They do not provide free services or solutions, therefore we should wake up before it is too late”, he added.
