Italian, third foreign language in Algerian schools
Algiers-The Ministry of National Education decided to start teaching Italian as a third foreign language in the division of languages next from school year 2011-2012.
The decision of teaching Italian language, like the Spanish and German which are included in the program since years, according to content of the Ministry’s correspondences to the directors of local education which carried the number 418/0.0.3/11 pursuant to the provisions of the law guiding the education and global trend for the control of foreign widespread languages, based on the successful experience in some high schools.
The General Directorate of Secondary General and Technological Education called upon the managers of education in provinces and managers of centers for school guidance, to inform the pupils for the possibility to choose the Italian language official in the next season.
The same correspondence called upon the managers of education to open sessions in order to enable pupils to choose the Italian language when there is a desire for teachers and learners to this language.
The Ministry of Education grants the priority to open sessions for studying Italian as a third language for the schools which have an experience in teaching this language through expanding their experience until it reaches other high schools.
