Jobless people block the road in the Hassi Messaoud

Dozens of jobless young people have blocked the main road at the entrance of the city not far from the public works company “ entp” , Hassi Messaoud, 80 KMS from the province of Ouargla in southern Algeria, disturbing traffic and spreading chaos.

• The protesters have denounced the appointment of a member in the committee in charge of reforming and overhauling the services at the city’s employment agency, who is the acting manager of the aforementioned company.

• Apart from the security forces that moved to the locations in a move to avert further troubles, no official from the local authorities has intervened in front of the angry youngsters or conduct discussions to listen to their claims.

• In a declaration to Echourouk, the protesters have denounced the lax of the committee members in taking in charge the affaires of the jobless. However, the manager of the employment agency has denied all the accusations, asserting , in a declaration to Echourouk, that the appointment of one of the number at the top of Hassi Messaoud agency obeys to an overall strategy which aims at giving a fresh momentum to this institution.
