Jordan entered the competition with both Turkey and Spain, to attract Algerian tourists, following security tensions that are defined by the countries of the Arab Spring, which were recently the traditional destination of Algerians like Tunisia and Egypt.

Diplomatic sources from the Jordanian Embassy in Algeria, revealed that an increase of more than 50% in the number of visa applications was recorded during the current season, which is a precedent in the history of the Jordanian Embassy in Algeria, as more than 120 visas are processed everyday in the field of summer tourism and entertainment in the territory of the Dead Sea and Aqaba, as well as medical tourism.

Consular services are betting, according to the same source, to reach two hundred and fifty visas daily (250) or more, with the approach of the pilgrimage season because Jordan is linked with the religious tourism and it contains archaeological evidence and other religious sites, that has long been a conduit for the prophets and messengers.

In addition to that, the journey from Jordan to Saudi Arabia can be completed by road, which will contribute to reducing the cost of the trip to perform Hajj, which is usually expensive on Algerian pilgrims, compared to the social capacity for the majority of Algerians who are hoping to visit the House of Allah.

Jordanian Consulate took procedures and incentive measures for the Algerian tourists who are looking for new safer destinations, to spend their holidays with reasonable costs and offers, such as those that were provided to them by Tunisia and Egypt.
