“No to blackmail and intimidation” with these words, General Manager of Ooredoo, responds to media questions about the controversy over his statement that sparked national public opinion, and inflamed social media on the conditions for granting advertisement for national newspapers, saying “There is no need for all this controversy.”

Joseph Ged, explained in a press conference on Monday morning, at Algiers Sheraton Hotel, that Ooredoo decided to re-launch advertisement campaigns for national newspapers, according to one rule, and considered that it is not inevitable as it is a pure commercial process.
“New advertisement strategy must be in accordance with our value. What is the cause of all this controversy? We, as a free advertiser respect the opening line of any media. We have men’s word.”
Joseph Ged asserted in the same context; “No to extortion or intimidation. Who wants to engage in this debate is free. I do not want to engage in this debate. Freedom of the press and freedom of advertisers are two linked things that can not be separated.”
