Journalist Véronique Jacquier Spews Her Grudges Against Algeria, Denies History

Since Algeria received the first batch of skulls of the resistance martyrs who stood in the face of colonial France, the fire of hatred burned the hearts of some lobbies that are still yearning for the lost paradise “Algeria is French”, which was evidenced by the statements of some of the French journalists.

The latest ugliness in this context is that of the French journalist, Véronique Jacquier, who, despite the conviction of various French presidents from the time of Nicolas Sarkozy to the present, Emmanuel Macron, that colonialism was a “crime”, but the likes of “Véronique” still live in the illusions of a fake past.

The French journalist, through the “C News” channel, vomited many hatreds and went so far as to justify the French colonialism in Algeria, while almost all the French disavowed this crime, which still brings them shame among the nations.

Véronique said a lot, but the worst thing that came out of her was an attempt to glorify the practices of the vile colonizer and to cover up the murders, extermination, displacement, denunciation, and substitution, when she started talking about bridges, roads, and hospitals, which were built during the occupation era, and even went away and more brazenly when she asked the victim to apologize to the executioner.

What came out of this journalist is not very different from what the far-right leader, Marine Le Pen, said when she tweeted a few days ago, using her racist backgrounds, claiming that “Algerian leaders are demanding an apology for the past to hide the present situation of their country”.

When this journalist, who is affiliated with the media wing of the extreme right, says that “Algeria was not a thing before 1830,” the Algerians remind her that their country was the storehouse that supplied France and Europe with grains, and when they did not find anything to fill their hunger, and that the authentic Algerian horse was the one used by Napoléon Bonaparte to prepare his army in the long and bitter wars he fought.

The right-wing journalist should read what the well-known historians wrote, and what moderate politicians said among her fellow citizens, to realize that the year 1830 was not the beginning of urbanizing the Algerians as she claimed, but rather the beginning of a series of crimes that humanity is disgusted from and still has, and which claimed the lives of about five million Algerians, throughout the abhorrent French occupation period, which, as is well known, caused the illiteracy rate among Algerians to rise to imaginary levels due to practices that omit the attributes of urbanization, humanity, freedom, equality and brotherhood.

When this journalist brags and talks about the positives of colonialism, she must remember that the Algerians found their country after independence, just ruins, devoid of infrastructure, schools and hospitals, and they only found one university with about 800 students, because of the scorched earth policy adopted by the occupation army during the years of the liberation revolution, In particular, to oppress the Algerians and discourage them from the liberation option in which they were involved.

What hurts Véronique and her bloody likes today, who are trying to justify the crime against humanity committed against innocent defenceless people, is that the sacrifices of the Algerians eliminated those who dreamed of keeping a French Algeria, and returned to this country which roots are deep in history, its greatness that was robbed for 132 years, which is today still recovering from the legacy of hateful colonialism, and is working on building its country that some wanted to attach to another country that has no link with it, neither history nor geography, except for the damned human bridges that this era left behind.
