Algerian international player Islam Slimani will not compete in the European League for the new season, with his English club Leicester City.

The management of Leicester City FC sent to the European Football Association a list of 24 players interested in participating in the group stage of the European League competition, the 2020-2021 edition, which did not contain the name of Islam Slimani. Later, the continental game board was drawn up.

The English Premier League team, Leicester City, is playing in the group stage to compete in the European League, in a group that includes Portuguese clubs Braga, Greece’s AEK Athena and Ukraine’s Zoreya and the competition is slated to kick off on the 22nd of October.

Striker Islam Slimani (32 years old) has a contract with Leicester City, which expires in the summer of 2021. But coach Brendan Rodgers recently asked the Algerian international to search for a new team to represent his colors, after Slimani became outside the sphere of tactical calculations for the Northern Irish technician.
But the “Desert Warriors” forward can stay in England and have a professional experience with a new team, as the curtain of the players’ transfer market is still open there, until the evening of the 16th of October.

Unlike Slimani, the European League competition will however witness the participation of other Algerian international players, and they are: midfield player Ismail Bennacer with the Italian team AC Milan, defender Youssef Atal, midfield teammate Hisham Boudaoui with French club Nice, striker Fadhel with the German team Hoffenheim, and defender Faouzi Ghoulam with Italian club Napoli.
