Libya Interior Minister Visits Algiers Tuesday
Libya Interior Minister, Fawzi Abdelaal, starts Tuesday a two day visit to Algiers at the invitation of his Algerian counterpart, Mr Daho Ould Kablia.Quoting a statment of the Interior Ministry, the APS news agency reported that “the two parties are due to discuss bilateral cooperation, in terms of boarder security, fighting organized crime, training, and the development of boarder localities.”The Libyan official is due to visit several security linked spots, including the police academy Ali Tounsi, the Forensic Police, in upper Algiers, in addition to the Headquarters of Republican Security Units, the Fire Fighting Intervention and Training Center, in El Hamiz, in the southern outskirts of Algiers, and the national criminology and evidence centre, in the locality of Bouchaoui, western Algiers. In the African border security summit held recently in Tripoli, Ould Kablia announced the creation of a bilateral boarder committee with Libya to strengthen joint border patrols to clamp down on arms trafficking and transnational crime.Earlier, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mourad Medelci, said Algeria will help Libya built an army and police.
