Libyan Rebels Vow to Take the War Into Algeria

After the end of the battle of Sirte, where Muaamar Gaddafi, his son Muatassim and his Defense Minister Abu Bakr Yunes were executed, rebel commanders and officials at the NTC have vowed to take the war into Algeria, which used to “support” the ousted Gaddafi.

Echorouk reporter in Libya understands that the rebels have discussed the issue of “supporting a revolution in Algeria”, by providing arms and teach street-war  techniques to an armed group that would fight regime in Algeria.

A rebel wearing a long beard, introduced himself as the dean of sheikhs in Sirte, the hometown of Gaddafi, has accused the regime in Algeria and President Abdelaziz Bouteflika of “disbelief,” and vowed to support an armed revolution there.

The rebels say they are ready to send arms and fighters to Algeria via the land border, without specifying whether such a back up is to be destined to Al Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb (AQIM).
