Foreign Minister Mourad Medelci has expressed indignation over the recent statements made by Muammar Gaddafi’s daughter, Aisha, saying such a conduct is « unacceptable. »

Mr Medelci said on Saturday in New York, where he is attending the UN’s 61th session “I’ve been told about the statement of Ms Aisha Gaddafi to the Al-rai satellite channel, and I can only express my surprise over such an act that had been made by a lady that Algeria hosted with her family members on humanitarian ground, and I’d say that she had breached her duty towards the nation that hosts her.”

The official added that “I insist that such a conduct is unacceptable for us, and we are taking measures to make sure such behaviours won’t occur again.”

Mr Medelci indicated that cooperation with the NTC is maintained, saying “I’d like to reiterate our stand to work with the new Libyan authorities to reconstruct the country and boost our bilateral relations.”

The Foreign Minister further specified that “We are to inform the UN’s Security Council about that deplorable media statement,” made by Aisha Gaddafi.

Aisha Gaddafi slammed in an audio message broadcasted by Syria based Al-rai satellite channel the NTC and the Arab leaders, saying they had betrayed her father. She added that Col. Gaddafi is well and leading fights against the NTC forces.

To recall, Gaddafi’s wife Safia, his daughter Aisha, his two sons Mohamed and Hannibal along with their sons entered Algeria on 29 August.
