Moroccan media campaign against Algeria opposes both Algeria and Morocco wills to go forward, Foreign Minister Mourad Medelci said.

Medelci, who was a guest at the National Radio 3, explained that the issue of the media campaign against Algeria was discussed with our Moroccan brothers with all sobriety, as we really notice that the environment which resulted from these media propaganda, especially which is published by a state news agency, is opposing the political will of both Algeria and Morocco, especially since it coincides with the visit of the personal envoy of the United States’ Secretary General in charge of the western sahara issue, Christopher Ross to Algeria and the region.
In his response to a question about opening the borders between Algeria and Morocco, Medelci added that it is a duality issue and that both Algerian and Moroccan parties should find a solution to it in a dual context.
Concerning the Algerian kid, Khwaled Islam, who is detained in Morocco on charges of sexual assault on a Moroccan kid, Medelci said that Algeria is not aiming to doubt the Moroccan judicial sovereignty, and that it is the only to decide about it.
“Our role is expressing firmly and clearly our solidarity with this boy and his family, and this is what we did and will do continuously”.
“Maghreb Union will continue in a normal way, and holding a summit is related to the availability on conditions, especially what is related to the security situation. We entered a serious path to prepare the summit of the Arab Maghreb union, but we are today still far from the availability of all the necessary conditions to make this summit a success. It is not easy to hold this summit in the current security circumstances”.
Medelci announced on holding a meeting of the Interior Ministers soon in Rabat.
As for the case of the Algerian diplomats who were kidnaped in Mali, Medelci confirmed that Algeria is dealing with the spirit of responsibility with this case, adding during a press conference that was attended by the Foreign Minister of Bahrain, Sheikh Khaled Ben Ahmed Ben Mhamed Al Khalifa, who is paying a visit to Algeria, that Algerians are living a hard situation, according to available information at the Algerian authorities, and that they accept this situation with courage and responsibility.
