Medelci:Tiguentourine terrorist attack targeted Algeria's firm positions

Foreign Minister Mourad Medelci warned of the danger which is targeting Algeria due to the security situation in the region, especially after the French military intervention in Mali, and the military arsenal that was obtained by terrorist groups following the elimination of Muammar Gaddafi regime.

Medelci denied any affects on Algeria’s relationships with countries that lost nationals in Tiguentourine operation.

Foreign Minister Mourad Medelci defended the performance of army in  Tiguentourine crisis and the way the political leadership dealt with it.

Medelci told the Qatari News Agency on Saturday, in an interview before the end of the Arab Union summit that was held in Doha on Tuesday and Wednesday; “What happened in Ain was a real test for government, as what happened was a terrorist plot against Algeria’s stability and to affect its unchanged positions”.

“Algeria faced Tiguentourine attack firmly using wisdom with less losses. Amazing results that were realised in the operation of freeing hostages due to Algetia’s experience and efficiency of the armed troops and various security services”.

“Algeria is concerned about the security crisis in Mali and repercussions on its territories, and this is clear in the firm measures and precautions along the borders to face any attack or threat against its security, whatever the nature. Algerian approach is comprehensive and includes the security side with both solidarity and development dimensions”.
