Message From President Tebboune To His Russian Counterpart Putin

On Wednesday, Major General Said Chengriha, the acting Chief of Staff of the National People’s Army, delivered in Moscow a message from President Abdelmadjid Tebboune to his Russian counterpart, Vladimir Putin.

According to a statement of the Ministry of National Defense, (MDN) Major-General Chengriha was received on the sidelines of his visit to Moscow by the Deputy Federal Defense Minister of Russia Lt. Gen. Vomin Alexander Vasilievich at the headquarters of the Russian Ministry of Defense, where he handed in a message from the President of the Republic, Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces and Minister of National Defense Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune to his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin.

The MDN statement said: “The two sides conferred in a meeting attended by members of the Algerian delegation accompanying the Major General, along with senior aides of the Russian Federal Defense Minister, on ways to enhance bilateral relations between the armies of the two friendly countries and the development of joint military action through exchange of experiences, as the two parties valued this cooperation between the Algerian and Russian armies, owing to its great importance ”.

For his part, the Deputy Federal Defense Minister of Russia stressed, according to the statement, that his country has always worked to develop its relations with Algeria, an important strategic partner, in order to serve the interests of the two countries, the two peoples and the two armies, and in turn Major General Said Chengriha emphasized the depth of the existing relations between the two countries and the two armies that go back to the stage of the glorious Algerian revolution”.

The same source indicated that, “On the sidelines of the reception and in appreciation of the distinguished presence of the Algerian delegation in these important celebrations of the Russian people and government that took place in special circumstances, Deputy Russian Federal Defense Minister Lieutenant-General Alexander Vasilyevich pointed to the depth of relations between the two countries and the two armies.

On the morning of today, the Acting Chief of Staff of the National People’s Army, attended official activities meant to commemorate the seventy-fifth anniversary of victory in the Great Patriotic War 1941-1945 at the invitation of Mr. Sergei Kujugovich Shoygo, Minister of Defense of Russia.

The huge military parade, which was organized in the Red Square in the center of the capital, Moscow, was attended by about 14 thousand soldiers from various teams and military regiments in addition to the participation of the Russian air force including more than 75 warplanes and helicopters from the time of World War II in addition to the latest Russian military equipment.
