Metro ticket fixed to 50 Algerian Dinars

The one way ticket price of the metro whose official opening is scheduled for next November has been fixed to 50 Algerian Dinars, a joint communiqué released by Algiers metro company and RTP – Algiers has revealed.

• The same communiqué has indicated that commuters can choose the option of 10 one way tickets between the main post office ( downtown Algiers)  and Al Badr compound against the payment of 400 Algerian Dinars and 20 % discount.

• The customers can subscribe for a week or a month period, the communiqué adds.

• The issue over the settlement of the ticket price has been thoroughly discussed during a cabinet meeting chaired by the Prime Minister Ahmed Ouyahia two weeks ago. Other points pertaining to the extension of the projects were included in the agenda.

• The project managers have asserted that the metro is fully equipped with cutting- edge technologies likely to ensure the security and comfort of the commuters.
