Minister summons Chinese manager over sacked unionists

In the wake of the conflict that broke out between union activists and the administration of the Chinese provider “ Huawei”, the Algerian minister of posts and telecommunication technologies Moussa Ben Hammadi has summoned the general manager of “ Raw Ning” to reintegrate the sacked activists at earliest.

• He has also ordered the Chinese company to abide by the Algerian legislation in its quality as a limited liability company.

• Sources have revealed to Echourouk that, the company’s manager has issued firm instructions that prevent the sacked unionists the entrance of the company, though the minister has summoned him to reconsider his decision.

• The minister’s move was backed by a number of parliamentarians who raised the issue of the employees.

•  

• The regional labor inspectorate has the day before yesterday sent a correspondence to Huawei warning against further judicial procedures in case where the employees are not reintegrated.

• The general manager has been give 8 days to remedy the situation.
