Mobile phone operator “Nedjma†first investor in the communication sector over the year 2010
The Director General of the Telephone Company “Nedjma “the Lebanese Joseph Gad has made an assessment of his company’s activities over 6 years during a press conference held yesterday at “ Al Moudjahed Forumâ€.
- The businessman has dwelt on the mobile phone issues in Algeria and the future prospects of his company at the short and medium term. He has also talked about his commitment to help the Algerian football in general and the national team in particular.
- Joseph Gad has indicated that “ Nedjma” was the first investor in the communication sector over the year 2010 with $ 1.5 billion all along its presence in Algeria, noting that the amount of the investment will increase by 50% in 2011 propelling “ Nedjma” at the helm investment in the sector of communication in Algeria and North Africa.
- He further indicated that Nedjma’s benefits have increased by 35% in 2010 so did the number of the scribers by 40% totalling 1.8 millions. These estimates place “Nedjma” in the second position on the Algerian market.
- Joseph Gad has asserted that “Nedjma” is committed to pursue its support policy to the Algerian football through the renewal of the contract with the Algerian Football Association that runs until 2013.
- He also indicated that his company’s network is covering the 48 provinces nationwide reaching 91 % of the total population. The company is employing 1900 people, 99% of them are Algerians and 40% women.
