Mourad Medelci: “Algeria supports a political solution that excludes Kaddafi from the Libyan dialogueâ€
Algiers-Algeria supports a political solution to the Libyan crisis based upon the exclusion of Muammar Kaddafi and his family from the table of dialogue and political reconciliation in Libya, as this endeavor adhered to Kaddafi personally, through Malabo proposal of the AU which is his exlusion from the Libyan political dialogue, Algeria’s FM Mourad Medelci said here on Tuesday during a press conference with his Italian counterpart Franco Frattini.
“Kaddafi is committed to Malabo proposal and Algeria is not against his exclusion from the Libyan political dialogue since it is his personal desire. Accusations by the Libyan transitional council are just a waste of time”, Mourad Medelci added.
For his part, the Italian FM Franco Frattini said that the political solution of the Libyan crisis presents itself firmly on the reality and it is the only possible urgent solution at the same time.
“Algeria can play an important role in this framework. Algeria and Italy support the political solution of the Libyan crisis”, he added.
