Mourad Megueni to Echourok: Oumderman spirit is sacred… and it’s hard to retrieve it

While the Algerian fans were waiting the come back of the Algerian team playmaker Mourad Megueni to competition after a long absence due to a serious knee injury, that forced him to miss the world cup tournament; fresh news talk about the surfacing of the same injury again.

• Although morally down, the player keeps optimistic for the future and hopes a quick return to competition notably playing the match versus Morocco next March.

• Echouorok: Mourad, the Algerian fans are concerned by your new injury, can you give us further details ?

• Megueni: Not further details actually, since I’m feeling slight pains at the level of my knee that hamper my return to competition at the moment; you probably know that I have joined my club a month ago and I’m undergoing my rehabilitation pending the come back on the pitches; but unfortunately, I felt some pains during the last few days.

• Echourok: You have certainly consulted your doctor, what did he say?

• Megueni: pains mean that there are abnormal things happening, either a sign of recovery or another injury in the offing, it’s not the same injury that I suffered from lately; anyway I have contacted my doctor and explained to him the case and there are no further details so far; it will require thorough examination to detect the causes.

• Echourok: Did this affect your morale?

• Megueni: Of course, after all this period of inactivity that kept out of the pitches for a long time, here I’m feeling pains while I was preparing for my comeback; this unexpected event has affected even my family that stood by me and were looking forward for my return.
• Echouorok : When was your return scheduled if things went as expected?

• Megueni: No late than the end of this month, I moved to Rome at the beginning of October and started my rehabilitation process pending my return with the group the same month or the end of October, but unfortunately things turned upside down suddenly and the plan was spoiled and now I’m eager to know the period of my convalescence rather than where the club for whom I will play.

• Echouorok :  What was the reaction of Lazio Rome managers?

• Megueni:  I met the president, who is the top manager of the club, and explained my case, he felt sorry for me but assured me that the club will wait until my complete recovery and I have to carry on my treatment.

• Echouorok :  They ( Lazio Rome) were probably waiting your comeback with eagerness?

• Megueni: I don’t know whether the club was eager to see me on the pitch again but my club mates were very happy to my return because they didn’t see me for more than 6 months and are aware of my abilities , as I’m concerned I want to help them and my club by extension.

• Echouorok :  Do you expect to treat your injury in Italy or move abroad?

• Megueni: Actually I don’t know; things will be clearer during the few days ahead within three of four days at maximum; I’m in contact- with numerous doctors to have different views over my case;

• Echouorok :  Maybe in France since you have undergone your surgery there?
•  
• Megueni : Maybe, there is a possibility to go to France especially that I will not be far from Rome and my movements between the two cities will not be constraining.

• Echouorok :  Or maybe to Qatar, like before?

• Megueni:I don’t think so, I have talked on the phone with professor Chalabi to explain him  my problem, but my move to Qatar is improbable.

• Echouorok :  We notice that your spirit is high isn’t?

• Megueni:at the beginning I was deeply affected but I resorted to take things with philosophy until my recovery.
