MPA Party lashes out at Amar Saâdani for his sweeping DRS bashing
The Algerian Popular Movement (MPA) led by Amar Benyounes has dubbed Amar Saâdani’s scathing criticism of the DRS intelligence services in a press interview earlier this week as “mendacious”, “surprising” and “utterly grave”.
The MPA Party firmly denounced and condemned at the end of a special broad-based meeting of its national bureau on Wednesday in Algiers such statements made by Amar Saâdani, stressing that the accusations leveled by the latter against the DRS intelligence services could jeopardize the country’s cohesion and stability.
The MPA Party said in a press release issued at the close of the meeting that such “untimely, unjustified and mostly irresponsible” statements dealt a serious blow to the honour of one of the most important and most noble institutions of the National Popular Army (ANP).
The MPA described the accusations by the FLN Party Secretary General, Amar Saâdani, against this national military institution as grave and groundless, adding that those proponents of the “who kills who”, at the height of their multi-pronged offensive against Algeria, didn’t dare go as far as Amar Saâdani in the wanton slander.
The MPA further called on the FLN executives and militants to show a sense of responsibility stressing however that it didn’t seek to meddle in the internal affairs of a third party.
The MPA party also reaffirmed in the communiqué its full support for a fourth mandate by President Abdellaziz Bouteflika whom it described as “the best guarantor of national stability”.
