MPs Call Upon The Foreign Minister To Stop Algeria Consulates’ Bureaucracy Against Algerian Nationals
MPs of the National People’s Council criticized the measures that are adopted by the Algerian Embassies and Consulates in granting visas to Algerians who are born abroad to engage the Algerian diplomacy in the process.
MP of the Algerian community in Africa and the Middle East, Amira Salim, addressed a written question to the Foreign Minister concerning the delay in the issuance of visas for Algerian nationals who are residing abroad by some consulates.
According to the written question, a large number of Algerian nationals who are living abroad suffer from bureaucratic practices at the level of many consulates and the MP ,Amira Salim, wondered the reason why the minors who were born of Algerian mothers were not granted visas.
“It is unreasonable to wait for a long time, as these families are waiting for a period of more than two weeks or even three weeks to obtain visas”.
“Even those whose have urgent circumstances to travel to Algeria have not completed the procedures for their children to obtain visas”.
“Algerian consulates should respond quickly to emergency situations and complete the procedures for applications that are filed at their level, especially as it concerns minors who are considered by Algerian law as Algerian citizens and that their acquisition of Algerian nationality is only a question of time, considering it as unreasonable for minors who are born to Algerian mothers to pay the visa application fees to enter Algeria as long as they are considered Algerian nationals”.
“Foreign Minister should consider the suffering of Algerian women who are living abroad and to intervene urgently to find a solution to what is described as the bureaucratic practices which are overwhelming a number of Algerian consulates abroad”.
