NAFTAL corruption cases: Justice investigates with 40 officials, employees

Economic and Finical Team of Algiers Security Services interrogated 40 employees and officials in NAFTAL on suspicion of being implicated in 8 corruption files, which are related to signing suspicious deals, inflating bills, wasting public money and anarchical employment, and receiving bribes, permanent theft and the appearance of rapid wealth.
Echorouk sources said that the Economic and Financial launched, since a week, an investigation with a number of officials and employees of NAFTAL in cases related to corruption and concluding suspicious deals that violate laws in force.
Same sources added that the EFT moved following a report that includes 8 corruption cases in the most important branch of Sonatrach, which caused the company a loss of billions of dinars since more then five years, in signing suspicious deals for the Algerian-French company, which mission was to renovate the centres of asphalt in Bejaia and Algiers, with a sum of 40 million Dinars, a money that was inflated in bills, in addition to the delay in starting work in the centres, which allows the competitive companies to get large shares in the Market on the at the expense of NAFTAL.
Private companies also got NAFTAL’s projects, causing a large delay of 6 to 24 months.
These projects caused losses due to delays in completing them and because of not respecting the signed contracts.
