National Election Monitoring Committee to Be Installed Wednesday

The National Election Monitoring Committee will be installed Wednesday afternoon in Algiers, said Tuesday an Interior Ministry’s statement.

The installation ceremony of the committee, in charge of monitoring the legislative election of 10 May, will take place at the headquarters of Algiers People’s Council in the presence of Interior Minister Daho Ould Kablia, the source said.

The National Election Monitoring Committee has been created in accordance with the law on electoral system, published in the Official Journal in 2012.

The Committee, set up on every election, comprises a permanent secretariat, representative of political parties participating in the election as well as representatives of independent candidates.
