Nedjma Ready to Be 3G Leader in Algeria, CEO Joseph Ged

Chief Executive Officer of Wataniya Telecom Algerie, the mobile-phone company known as Nedjma, said his company is ready to become the 3G leading operator in the North African nation.

Ceo Joseph Ged, who was the guest of Echorouk on Wednesday, congratulated the government for announcing the 3G license in the tender planned for early 2012, saying such a technology would be a real revolution in the telecommunication market in Algeria, and would offer high tech services for companies and institutions, including distance education, distance medical treatment and distance conferences.

Nedjma is “committed to increasing investments to fulfill all the license specifications as would be set and decided by the Algerian government,” Ged said.

Mr Ged further mentioned that the personel of Nedjma is highly qualified to implement the 3G technology, “as our employees have been trained, here in Algeria and abroad,” noting that “99 percent of Nedjma staff are Algerians, of which 40 percent are women, and 60 percent of whom hold high ranking positions.”

To recall, Minister of Post and Telecommunications, Moussa Benhamadi, announced in August that the 3G tender specifications will be available by mid-September.
