New Canals of Potable Water in Algerian Desert

Minister of Water Resources “Abdelmalek Sellal” inaugurated on Wednesday morning the launch of a project to renew the canals of potable water in Tamanrasset (south of Algeria) with a length of 377 km, a tank of water volume with 50.000 cubic meters, as it will be completed after 18 months, at more than 4.1 billion dinars.

The project’ s achievement was granted to the national company Cosider, as it aims to eliminate the crisis of spills in the old canals, and create thousands of jobs for unemployed.

Water consumption in the city every day reaches 30.000 liters of water with the existence of two tanks with a reserve capacity of 100.000 liters, providing a coverage of 96% of potable water.
