New provisions in Algeria 2009 finance law
Algeria’s 2009 budget provides a set of measures as part of the fight against tax fraud, investment encouraging and tax system simplification.

The government will create a nationwide agency of fiscal investigations in charge of identifying tax evasion and fraud sources.

People will not have to pay their taxes in cash if the sums are higher than what is determined by the finance ministry.

The finance law, which was signed by President Abdelaziz Bouteflika Tuesday, allows extension of tax exemption on incomes and covering financing risks of investment credits for small and middle-seized enterprises.

It will also set up a method of payment on a trimester basis for tax payers in terms of incomes instead of a monthly payment.

Tax payers will benefit from a set of measures stipulated by the law and meant to reinforce guarantees in their favour.
