Opposition Parties ask for the Creation of a Mixed Commission to Monitor Elections

Green Algeria Bloc mortgages his participation in local elections with a number of conditions, including the development of a mixed commission between the parties and judges to oversee the elections, and put the administration away from preparations of the process.

For its part, the Front for Justice and Development called upon the agreement on guarantees developed and applied by the administration, parties ‭and power, ‭while the Labour Party postponed revealing its conditions until the end of‭ the assessment of the elections’ results‭. ‬

Political parties started preparation of the post-elections period, describing the results as falsified, as the bloc, which includes Annahda (renaissance), Islah (reform) and Hams, linked its participation with terms, including the development of a mixed commission to oversee the elections which include representatives of the independent commission to monitor the elections and judges, the removal of administration completely for the preparation of the elections.

Head of Annahda movement, Hamlawi Akouchi, called upon other parties to join this endeavor, saying: “we do not want the administration to choose the lists of the electorates which the bloc think it was amplified with more than three‭ ‬million voices”. ‬

“Conflicys should be overcame, to enter the local elections with consolidated lists shared by parties close to the green bloc, in terms of ideological and political orientation, specifically the Front for Change and the Front for Justice and Development. A meeting will brings together this week leaders of ‭three parties of the bloc, and it‬ will be allocated for the upcoming elections” ‭.
