Oprah Winfrey and Larry King want to interview Jade Goody

US television presenters Oprah Winfrey and Larry King are battling to secure interviews with Jade Goody before she dies, according to her publicist.

• The respected talk show hosts are willing to pay up to £500,000 to speak with the dying reality TV star, amid growing awareness of her plight across the Atlantic, it is claimed
• Goody, 27, has said that she wants to raise as much money as possible for her two children before she dies but there are fears that she may now be too ill for another television interview.
• Last night she went under the knife in an operation to relieve her debilitating stomach pains, and her publicist Max Clifford said she would only speak to US networks if her health improved.
• “Jade’s story is now being heard all over the world – it is pretty remarkable,” he told the Daily Express.
• “I have hundreds of people calling me daily, just wanting an update about her. So far, Oprah Winfrey and Larry King really want to do an interview too.
• “But all these things will only take place if and when Jade wants them to – and, of course, if she feels up to it.”
• The Oprah Winfrey Show and Larry King Live are among the most popular talk shows in the US. The Fox News channel is also interested in interviewing Goody, according to the newspaper.
• Goody sold the rights to her wedding to Jack Tweed to OK! magazine for £700,000. The ceremony will also be shown on Living TV.
