Oran hospital Manager: “Our Administration is accountable for scandal of rats having defaced dead patient in hospital's toilets”
The Manager of the University hospital of the city of Oran in western Algeria, Bakdous Abdelkader, has acknowledged that the hospital's administration cannot shirk its responsibility in the recent scandal about the rats having defaced a dead patient in the hospital's toilets.
-
The patient concerned who was very sick had gone to the hospital’s toilets to relieve himself, abruptly passed away inside the toilets where he was later defaced by rats.
-
-
He remained lying on the floor of the toilets for several hours on end and unfortunately fell victim to the gnawing rats there.

The Oran hospital Manager told Echorouk that the remoteness of the toilets from the pneumology service of the hospital where this hapless patient was being treated was among the reasons behind this unfortunate incident but this, he said, does not absolve the hospital’s administration of its accountability in this scandal.

He also indicated that this regrettable incident had prompted the managerial staff to ponder on ways and means of modernizing the hospital and ensuring all-out cleanliness at all levels notably by getting rid of all the rats throughout this health facility.
