Ouyahia’s plan submitted to Parliament
Algerian Prime Minister Ahmed Ouyahia presented his plan of action to the National Assembly (APN) Sunday for the execution of the president’s program.

In his plan of action, Ouyahia plans to continue the reinforcement of trade control and protection of consumers against fraud.

The plan mentions that the government will make progress in the revision of legislation and regulation intended to market control and fraud sanction.

“A total of 35 wholesale and 700 retail markets will be created as part of a five-year plan program,” says Ouyahia.

3.1 million new jobs

A total of 3.1 million new jobs were created in 2004-2007, according to figures announced in the plan of action.

Unemployment rate reached 29 percent in 1999 and dropped to 15.3 percent in 2005 while it was estimated at11.8 percent in 2007, said the same figures.

On the other hand, the prime minister says unemployment “remains burdensome” in Algeria especially among young people.

“That motivates efforts to increase job offers.”

In that regard, the plan of action highlighted the reinforcement of public mechanisms in 2008 along with the help of the professional integration system (DAIP).

DAIP helped more than 100,000 unemployed people to find jobs in the economic sector between the end of June and October, according to Ouyahia.

Deep mutation at high education

Ouyahia plans to continue “deep mutation” at Algerian universities, launched few years ago.

The government started generalizing LMD system (Bachelor’s, Master’s, Doctorate) already applied in 49 universities.

The plan of action points out the increasing reception capacities of Algerian universities which are being prepared to receive 2 million students in 2015.
