Over 15 million Algerians to receive their magnetic cards soon: Official says

Algiers (22/01/2012) – Finance Ministry, in coordination with the Central Bank, asked the company of machinery cash and automatic relationships between banks “STIM” to grant magnetic cards to 15 million Algerian customers.

In this context, the General Manager of the company Nawal Ben Kritli told Echorouk that; “All customers of banks and posts will be granted magnetic cards, as a positive step for the final elimination of the cash crisis in post offices and even banks, especially on special occasions and religious holidays, on the basis that citizens can get their money from the post offices and banks for use at anytime, thus they can avoid overcrowding and queues in front of the headquarters of post offices”.

“Four million customers out of Nine millions make up the total Algerian customers of post offices, who got accounts will benefit from magnetic cards. While over six million customers will get their bank accounts and magnetic cards”, she added.

“Recent statistics on the number of magnetic cards that were produced by the company of cash machinery and automatic ties between the banks shows that they reach over 580.000 for banks and 5 million for posts. The number of applications received by the company to extract the magnetic cards, made by different banks, reaches 6 million per day, a figure that doubles every day.”
