French Foreign Services Report showed that the French nationals, who left their country, particularly, because of the economic crisis and other reasons, and who chose to settle in Algeria or returned to it, are increasing significantly during the last three years, as their number reached, during 2015, nearly 40.000 people, up with 12% compared to 2014.

According to the statistics agenda on the French citizens, who were born in France, and moved to settle abroad, that was prepared by the French Foreign Services, on March 11,  over 38,325 French nationals, who are mostly of Algerian origin, returned to settle in Algeria in 2015, while their number reached about 34.371 cases during 2014, with an increase of about 12%.

French nationals, who decided to choose Algeria and live there or return to it, represented the third largest proportion over the past year, behind both of Mali 19% and Congo 14%, and that of the total 162 countries that were surveyed by the statistical study, while their number reached, during 2013, about 31,677 cases.

Same report shows that there is a sort of reverse migration from France to Algeria, a it is mostly done by Algerians of dual nationality, while Le Figaro quoted analysts as saying that this situation is primarily due to the attempt to escape the applicable French tax system, and try to find a space that is less pressurizing in the area of taxation, especially that about 2 million French are registered across the French consulates in the world, recognizing that this kind of collective departure forms a crisis in the French treasury.

In parallel, over 25,000 Algerians settled in France only in last year, whether through mixed marriages, job or study opportunities in the context of economic migration, according to the statistics that were provided previously by the French Senate.
