Palestinian players arrive to Algeria amid cheers
The manager of the Palestinian team of less than 23 years Mohamed Sayad hailed Algerian authorities and the Algerian Football Federation for the hearty welcome they received.
“We got a hearty welcome. I was dreaming of visiting Algeria. We see it as a revolutionary and historical reference. I am very happy to be here,” Sayad told Echorouk.
“I thank President Abdelaziz Bouteflika, the sports minister and Mohamed Raouraoua for making this event successful,” he added.
Speaking about the match due to be played between Algeria and Palestine, he said it will be historic as it will be played in Algiers. “It will be an opportunity to be together and to show that Algeria stands by the side of the Palestinian cause.”
Palestine coach: I invite Algerians to “invade” the July 5th Stadium
Palestine coach Nourredine Ould Ali Thursday said the game will be historic as it will be played by two brother people who love each other.
“The match is historic and its success depend on fans. I invite Algerians to be present in the July 5th Stadium,” he added.
