Paris Mosque Rector: “I will be the next chairman”

Rector of the Mosque of Paris Dalil Boubeker Sunday said preliminary results of the French Council of the Muslim Faith elections in 25 French districts show the Muslim community’s commitment.

“Turnover rate is estimates at more than 70 percent so far. The majority was Algerian and Maghrebin,” Boubeker told Echorouk on the phone.

“I will be the chairman of the French Council of the Muslim Faith according to a convention saying the Council should be chaired by the rector of the Great Mosque of Paris,” he added.

“All the media reports about a mosques war between Morocco and Algeria in France are baseless. Detailed results will be announced on June 23^rd.”

Boubeker believes that elections boycott by the Muslim Brotherhood did not affect the elections as they represent 4 percent only.
